WhatsApp feedback · Google reviews · Built for South Africa
Turn happy customers into your next ones.
RateMate asks every customer how the job went — on WhatsApp, where they actually answer — then invites them to share it on Google. The reputation you earn brings in the business you deserve. And if someone’s unhappy, you hear first — in time to make it right.

How it works
Ask everyone. Invite everyone. Hear about problems first.
Send the ask
After the job, tap Request feedback. RateMate sends a WhatsApp in your name — and falls back to SMS automatically if the number isn’t on WhatsApp. No number on file? Your rating QR code works on an invoice, at the counter, or on site when you hand over the job.
They rate you in seconds
Your customer taps 1–5 on a page with your logo and your wording — in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, whatever your customers speak.
Everyone gets the same invite
Every customer is invited to share their rating on Google — no cherry-picking. And when a score is low, something extra happens:
The rating page
A page that looks like you, not us.
Your logo, your colours, your wording — even the language. No app to download, no login, nothing to install. Your customer taps once and they’re done.

Leave us a Google review ⭐Why it works
Built on how people actually behave.
WhatsApp gets answered
A 10-second tap in the app your customers live in — not an email survey they'll open never. More answers means more reviews and fewer surprises.
You get there first
The alert lands the moment an unhappy customer taps. That's the window where a problem is still a phone call — and a fixed problem is your best shot at a good review.
Clean with Google
Everyone gets the same review invite. “Review gating” — inviting only happy customers — breaks Google's policies and can get reviews removed, so RateMate makes it impossible. Your rating grows, and it's bulletproof.
Built for South Africa
POPIA-compliant consent, opt-outs and audit trail. Automatic SMS fallback. Rand pricing through PayFast. Local phone formats just work.
What you get
Everything a small business needs. Nothing an enterprise suite drags in.
Needs-attention alerts
Low scores open an alert with the customer's name and number. Call, fix it, mark it resolved — the whole save is on record.
A rating link that works anywhere
Your permanent link and QR code go wherever your customers are: printed on the invoice, standing at the counter, or shown on site when you hand over the job.
WhatsApp first, SMS always
Sends go out on WhatsApp and fail over to SMS automatically. You never chase a message that didn't arrive.
Your brand, your words
The rating page carries your logo, your colours and your wording — customers see your business, not ours.
A dashboard that gets to the point
Last 30 days at a glance: average score, response rate, review clicks — and who to call back, right at the top.
POPIA without the paperwork
Consent records, one-word opt-outs honoured everywhere, right-to-erasure built in, append-only audit trail. Sleep fine.
Pricing
One plan. Less than one call-out fee.
If RateMate saves you a single unhappy customer a month, it has paid for itself.

What is RateMate?
RateMate is a South African tool that sends your customers a WhatsApp (or SMS) after a job asking them to rate you 1–5. Every customer is then invited to share their rating on Google — and any low score instantly opens a private alert with the customer's number, so you can call them back before a complaint becomes a public review. It costs R299/month for 200 requests, and it's POPIA-compliant out of the box.
Do you hide my bad reviews?
No — and be wary of anyone who says they can. Every customer gets the same Google invite regardless of score (“review gating” breaks Google's policies, so RateMate makes it impossible). What RateMate changes is speed: you hear about a bad experience the moment it happens, while it's still a phone call and not a review.
Do customers need to be in my contact list?
No. Alongside the WhatsApp requests you send, every business gets a permanent rating link and QR code that work anywhere — print it on your invoices, stand it at the counter, or show it on site when you finish the job. Customers add themselves, with consent captured properly.
What if my customer isn't on WhatsApp?
The request goes out by SMS automatically. You don't have to know or care which channel worked — RateMate handles the fallback and shows you the delivery status.
Is this POPIA-compliant?
Yes. RateMate records the consent source and time for every customer, honours opt-outs instantly across all channels, keeps an append-only audit trail of every message and consent change, and supports full right-to-erasure when a customer asks to be deleted.
How much work is it, honestly?
About two taps per job. Add the customer (or import your list once as a CSV), tap Request feedback, done. Or skip the typing entirely: put your QR code on the invoice and let customers rate you themselves.
