For pest control businesses with techs on the road

The treatment worked. Nobody told you how the visit went.

Pest work lives on the follow-up and the renewal. After each treatment RateMate asks the customer how it went on WhatsApp, so an unhappy house reaches you privately instead of quietly not renewing.

No app to download. No WhatsApp Business account needed. You stay in control of every send.

A pest technician at a front door in overalls, clipboard or tablet in hand, homeowner listening. Domestic, tidy, unposed. Nothing alarming in frame.

Sound familiar?

The complaint you never get to answer.

Pest customers are quiet customers. They will not tell you the tech rushed. They will just call someone else in three months.

The ants are back in week three and the customer phones a competitor, not you.

A tech skips half the follow-up and you find out at renewal, if at all.

A one star review with no name, so you cannot tell which house it was.

Work that comes back

Nobody cancels in anger. They just stop booking.

A pest contract does not end at the treatment that failed. It ends at the third visit where nobody felt heard.

Because the same customer rates every visit, you are not reading one score. You are watching a line move.

How it works

It all happens in WhatsApp.

Not just for your customers. You run the whole thing from the same chat you are in all day. Send the ask after the follow-up, tag the tech who treated the house, and check who needs a call back between jobs.

Text the menu
One word gets you your options: ask for feedback, see your latest ratings, check who needs a call back.
Forward the customer
Share their contact card straight from your phone, or type the number. Tag who did the job, tap Send Request, and it goes out in your business name.
Ask any time
Open alerts, latest responses, what is left on your plan. All of it comes back in the chat, and asking costs you nothing.
RateMate

You trigger every send, and every rated customer sees the same review invite.

The owner in the yard on the phone, spray unit and equipment loaded behind. Working call, not a portrait.

The save

A five-minute call instead of a lost contract.

A low score reaches your phone with the customer’s number and the tech who treated the house, while you can still send someone back. You call, you re-treat, and the contract you would have lost at renewal stays on the book.

Who did the job

The tech in the house is the business, that day.

Tag the tech who treated the house and every rating lands against the right person. The one who is rushing shows up in a month, not in a year of lost renewals.

A low score names the person who did the job, so the call you make is the right one. Your staff never see a league table: each person gets a private link to their own numbers, no rankings, no colleagues’ names.

Honest limit: a walk-in QR rating counts for the business, not a person. The scores that carry a name are the requests you send.

Every way a customer can answer

WhatsApp first. SMS and QR for everyone else.

WhatsApp
The way South Africa already talks. One tap in the chat they already have.
SMS
No smartphone needed. The same one tap ask reaches every customer on the round.

FAQ

What pest control owners ask us first.

Customers do not want to admit they had pests. Will they even rate?

The ask never names the problem. It comes from your business, asks how today’s visit went, and the rating is private to you. Nothing is published anywhere unless the customer chooses to leave a Google review themselves.

The treatment takes two weeks to work. Is the timing not wrong?

You choose when the ask goes out, so send it after the follow-up rather than the first spray. You are asking about the visit and the tech, not about whether every cockroach is gone.

Will this put more bad reviews on Google?

Every rated customer sees the same Google review invite, whatever the score. What changes is that unhappy ones also reach you privately, with a name and a number, while there is still something you can do.

We work for estate agents and landlords, not the tenant.

Send the ask to whoever you answer to. The tenant can rate too if they are the one meeting your tech, and you decide which number goes on each request.

What about bad reviews?

You hear about problems privately first, with a name and a number attached, in time to sort them out. Compare that to an anonymous Google review where you often cannot even tell which job it was. And to be clear about the other side: every rated customer gets the same Google review invite. RateMate never gates reviews by score.

Is this legal under POPIA?

Yes. Consent records, instant opt-outs and an audit trail are built in. POPIA without the paperwork.
