I didn't get a low-score alert

Updated 25 Oct 2026

First check the portal. Every alert shows on Home and under Alerts in the Feedback tab, whatever happened to the message. If it is there, the alert opened and the cause is in the list below. If it is not, no alert opened, which means the rating was above your threshold or was your setup test. Only owners can change the settings below.

The score was above your threshold

An alert opens when a customer rates you at or below your threshold. New businesses start on 3. To change it, tap Manage, then Business profile, and pick under Alert threshold. Your setup test rating never opens an alert. See Handle a low-score alert.

Alerts to your phone are switched off

On Business profile, check Low-score alerts to your phone. Yes, message my verified WhatsApp number sends to your verified number. With No, email and portal only you get an email and the portal alert.

Your number is not verified

Phone alerts go to your verified number. Tap Manage, then Account, and look for Verified next to your WhatsApp number. If you changed the number, it stays unverified until you verify the new one. See Manage your account settings.

Your plan does not send alerts

Phone alerts need the free trial, Standard or Team, or bonus notifications from referrals. On Starter the alert shows in the portal only. See Plans and prices.

It went to the owner, not to you

The phone alert goes to the owner's verified number, not to team members. A member sees alerts on Home and in Feedback.

The phone message could not be sent

If WhatsApp is not available, RateMate sends an SMS. If the phone message cannot be sent or fails, RateMate emails your sign-in address instead. Check your spam or junk folder, and confirm the address under Account.

A low balance is not the cause

A phone alert uses one notification, but a low balance never stops an alert from being sent.
