Why can't I send a request?
Updated 25 Oct 2026
When a request will not go, RateMate tells you why. Find your message below. Sending from WhatsApp follows the same rules as sending from the portal.
"You already asked this customer for feedback"
This is the duplicate guard. The customer has an unanswered request from the last 48 hours. Tap Send Anyway if you really want to ask again. A different job reference counts as a different job. See Send a feedback request.
"You have no notifications left this month"
Your allowance is used up. A paid plan gets its allowance back when it renews, and an owner can buy extra notifications. On the free trial the notifications are a one-off set that does not refill, even though the message says "this month". See Your free trial.
The Request button is greyed out
You are on Starter, which collects ratings with your QR code and link but sends no requests. Bonus notifications from a referral let Starter send. See Plans and prices.
"Your subscription has ended"
Your billing status is Payment overdue or Ended (read-only), and sending is paused until an owner sorts it out. See If a payment fails.
"This customer has opted out"
The customer asked not to be contacted, and RateMate will not send to them. They also do not appear in the search. See My customer replied STOP by mistake.
"That staff member is no longer available"
The person you chose under Who did the job? can no longer be picked, for example because they were archived. Refresh the page and choose someone else, or leave it empty.
Is it because I am a member?
No. Members can send requests, and there is no separate limit for them. Everyone on the business uses the same allowance. What a member cannot do is open Billing, so the fix for a plan or payment problem is with an owner. See I can't see a setting or button.
