Your free trial

When you sign up, you start on a free trial. You do not enter a card, and the trial has no end date. It lasts until you have used your free notifications.

What you get

You get 50 notifications with every feature switched on. That includes sending requests, low-score alerts to your phone, staff scores and team logins. The trial is the one time you can try the Team features without paying for Team.

Your balance only goes down when RateMate sends something for you, such as a feedback request or a phone alert. Walk-in ratings from your QR code do not use any. See Plans and prices for what counts.

See how many you have used

1. Tap Manage (on a computer, Settings).
2. Tap Billing.

The panel headed You’re on the free trial says how many you have used, for example "You’ve used 12 of your 50 free notifications (feedback requests and alerts)", with a bar underneath.

When the free notifications run out

Sending pauses until you choose a plan. If you try to send a request, the message says you have no notifications left "this month", but the trial does not refill (see Why can't I send a request?). Nothing is deleted:

• Your feedback and customers stay.
• Your QR link stays, and walk-in ratings keep working.
• Low-score alerts keep working, so you still hear about an unhappy customer.

Trial notifications are a one-off set, not a monthly allowance. They do not refill on their own.

Choose a plan

1. On the Billing screen, tap Choose a Plan in the trial panel.
2. Under Choose a plan, tap the plan you want. For example, tap Choose Standard.
3. PayFast opens. Pay there, then you return to RateMate.

RateMate then shows "Payment received. Your subscription activates as soon as PayFast confirms it (usually within a minute)." Your plan starts with its full monthly allowance, and your renewal date is one month from the day you pay. Any trial notifications you had left do not carry over. They are replaced by the plan's allowance, and Starter has none.

• Top-ups are not available on the trial. Choose a plan first, then see Buy extra notifications.
• Only owners can choose a plan.
