I can't see a setting or button

Updated 25 Oct 2026

Three things hide screens and buttons: your role, your plan, and the size of your screen. Check them in this order.

You are a team member

Everyone who signs in is an Owner or a Member. Under Manage (Settings on a computer), a member sees Account and nothing else. Team, billing, message templates, the QR code, staff, referrals and business settings are for owners. A member who opens one of those pages by its address is sent back to Home. The Staff scores card on Home is owner only too.

Members can add customers, send requests and resolve alerts. Ask an owner for anything else. See What owners and members can do.

Your plan does not include it

  • Request is greyed out on Starter, which sends no requests. See Plans and prices.
  • Team members only works on the Team plan and during your free trial. Other plans see a Team tag and an Upgrade to invite button.
  • Staff scores are a Team feature, and other plans see a locked preview.
  • Buy top-up is not on the free trial or Starter.
  • Phone alerts need the trial, Standard or Team, or bonus notifications. See I didn't get a low-score alert.

If your subscription has lapsed, a red strip says "Your subscription has ended" and sending is paused. See If a payment fails. While your status is Payment overdue, the Cancel subscription link is hidden.

You are on a phone, or on a computer

  • Import CSV is on the computer version of Customers only. On a phone you add customers one at a time. See Import customers from a spreadsheet.
  • The notifications-left meter sits in the left-hand menu on a computer. A phone has none, so use Manage, then Billing.
  • Some names differ. Home on a phone is Dashboard on a computer, and Manage is Settings.

A button only shows when it can work

  • Call, WhatsApp and SMS on an alert only appear while RateMate holds the customer's number.
  • The WhatsApp setup buttons only show once your number is verified. See Set up WhatsApp commands.
  • A customer who opted out shows "Opted out · cannot contact" instead of a request button.
